So how often have you been in a situation and been presented with a great opportunity and just as you decide to go for it that darn niggling voice inside your head reigns you back in and says a big fat NO.. “you cant do that you will look stupid” or even “you don’t know enough”. That voice often referred to as your chimp can be the difference between where you want to be and where you actually are.

Over the last few years I have been on an incredible self development journey, I have noticed working on my mindset has greatly improved me reaching my goals.Creating a business mindset is something those most successful know is a work in progress and commit time to developing this skill daily. Bear in mind patience is needed to  years of core beliefs to achieve a mindset for success. So put simply, our behaviour is consistent with our beliefs so if you believe you’ll succeed, you will in turn take effective action that moves you closer to your goal. With all that said I have put together some top tips to help you get well on your way to achieving that mindset for success.

  1. Recognise the voice within
    Your mindset controls the ways you talk to yourself in the privacy of your own head. Recognising this fact is the first step to achieving a growth mindset. Pay attention to your thoughts and see how often you tell yourself anything negative. If so, you’ve spotted the fixed mindset at work, blocking your potential for success.
  2. Commit to development
    First things first – understand that this is not going to happen overnight. Set aside some time in that already packed calendar to read or listen to an audio even if just for 5 minutes.
  3. Study successful habits
    Be around successful people and watch the way they speak as well as the topics they discuss; you will pick up some amazing habits . This can be done simply from the comfort of your sofa by joining a Facebook group mastermind. Modelling the mindsets, strategies, and actions of those who have already accomplished what we are pursuing is soooo valuable.
  4. Break challenges down
    Overcome your challenges one step at a time. When you have a long list of challenges you want to overcome it can be easy to become overwhelmed. Breaking down these goals into bite sized chunks can help you to work with your brain in partnership to help create solutions. This helps the mindset to produce consistent action, which adds up to massive progress over time.
  5. Fake it until you make it
    By that I mean on your journey to achieving your mindset for success, your mind will not always be in alignment with your will. So until that happens look for new challenges and keep challenging yourself even if you’re riddled with fear on the inside. Don’t believe you can phone that potential client? pick up the phone and do it! you will be amazed at the effect the achievement of actually doing it will have on your confidence. Changing the talk in your head is not just the answer but work on your actions as well become a Doer.
